Day Two in the Art Studio…

After learning about Ken-te-strips yesterday, Macy was very excited to show off her dress from Ghana…

We spent this morning sequencing the main points of the story before beginning our own story board to show these events.

We had an exciting yet busy afternoon. We used the oil pastels to draw a spider’s web, thinking carefully about the shapes and designs. After using a water wash, we had lots of fun using the plasticine to make banana leaves which we used to print onto our webs. It was important that we thought carefully about the shape of a banana leaf as in the story, the wonderful web was found on a banana tree.

Some of us had another go at weaving. Although this was quite tricky at first, we are finding it easier with a bit more practise.

After this, we did some sewing. Lots of us were definitely like Tough Tortoise as sewing isn’t easy! Thank you to Debora, who was a Helpful Hen by helping those around her when she felt more confident herself.
