Maths Detectives…

We enjoyed taking our learning outside today when learning about volume. We used cups to measure how much water each container holds and used vocabulary such as: full, half full, almost full and empty to describe our observations.

We found out that the lemonade and milk bottles have the greatest volume as they both hold 9 1/2 cups of water which we now know is the same as 2 litres.

The hand sanitiser bottle holds the least amount of water as it only filled half of our cup.

Challenge…

Can you find anything in your house that holds more liquid than a 2 litre milk bottle?

  1. Hello 2S,
I’ve missed you all this week at lunchtime, how has your week been?

What a great idea to take your learning outside, especially when water is involved and on such a lovely day too.

I found a fabric conditioner bottle under my kitchen sink that holds 3 litres of liquid. Did anybody else find anything at home?

Looking forward to seeing all your smiley faces next week 2S!
    Mrs Robottom 🙂
